Employee Spotlight!

February 14, 2018

Our employees are what truly make Clark, Clark. We are a diverse, fun, and unique place to work. We have a wide spectrum of personalities and backgrounds that have a passion for what they do.

Karrie Johnson

Meet Karrie Johnson. She is a Senior Associate and Environmental Specialist. She has been with Clark for four years and has more than 14 years of natural resources experience. Her expertise includes biological inventories, wetland delineations, hydro geomorphic assessments, floristic quality assessments, and wetland bank developments.

What is your role and what do you do?

My role as a biologist is to protect and maintain our water resources. When development needs to occur within wetlands, coming up with the best solution to minimize the loss of this valuable resource is what I do.

What do you like most about your job?

I like that I get to do a variety of tasks each day which keeps it exciting. Some days I’m protecting endangered fish in construction areas by seining, and some days I’m in the field digging holes to check the wetland soils. I like being outdoors and this job allows me to get out of the office and away from report writing every once in a while!

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

If I were a superhero, my superpower would be teleportation. I would then be able to go wherever I wanted, whenever I wanted!

What’s the coolest Clark project you are working on right now?

The coolest project I am currently working on is a wetland bank. The project consists of creating, enhancement and preservation of wetlands in a degraded agricultural area. The development phase of this project is exciting to see as the design takes shape on the ground.

What do you do for fun?

When I am not at Clark, I enjoy running, hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping.
