Meet Our Summer Interns!

Clark Engineering, now IMEG hires interns each year to provide a variety of valuable assistance. We are proud to introduce our 2020 interns and wanted to offer an opportunity to get to know them.

Our internship program focuses on professional development that engages interns in challenging and meaningful ways and gives them opportunities to learn key job skills. Their work at Clark will help them obtain valuable on-the-job experience that will benefit them as they launch their careers.

Bryce Steffen

Title: Civil Engineering Intern

What are three words you would describe Clark Engineering, now IMEG?

Intuitive. Welcoming. Efficient.

What is your role and what do you do?

The role I received is to do whatever is needed. I am a civil engineering intern working with the bridge team out of the Sioux Falls office, so most of the time I will be in the field inspecting bridges or I will be in the office naming photos and writing reports for the completed bridges.

What do you do for fun?

For fun, I like to play sports, hunt, fish, and hang out with my friends.

What is your role and what do you do?

I am a Civil Engineering Intern that is working on performing signing inventory in Buffalo County for their signing and delineation project.

What piece of advice would you give to a new employee?

Do not be nervous because your superiors will be very helpful and teach you what you need to know in the field.

What is the one food you can’t live without?

BBQ Wings.

What do you like most about Clark Engineering, now IMEG?

I like the fact that Clark Engineering is very well rounded. They give you the opportunity to explore the different fields within the engineering industry.

Why did you choose Clark Engineering, now IMEG?

I chose Clark Engineering, now IMEG, because of the kind people who work there and the amazing opportunities they provide. It seems to be a very friendly and hospitable environment with much to offer.

What is your favorite movie?

I don’t have a single favorite movie, but my favorite movie series is the Jurassic Park movies.

Title: Civil Engineering Intern

What do you like most about your job?

I like going out to bridges, taking pictures, and taking note of anything new that has happened with the bridge since the last time it was inspected.

What is your role and what do you do?

I am a Civil Engineering Intern working with the bridge team in the Aberdeen, SD office assisting them with bridge inspections.  I take pictures of bridges, note anything new that has happened to them, and compile the information into documents to create a report for each bridge.

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

I would have the ability to fly.

Title: Civil Engineering Intern

What does a typical day at Clark Engineering, now IMEG look like?

I am a Civil Engineering Intern working on performing signing inventory for Hamlin County for their signing and delineation project. I wake up at 5:30 and am in the truck heading to the signing project by 6:00. I arrive in the township I will be working in for the week. I eat a packed lunch on the road and continue driving the township until 5:00 pm, and then drive home.

What do you like most about your job?

I like the freedom to determine my own schedule. I can work longer days at the beginning of the week and shorter towards the end while still getting the job done effectively.

Who is your favorite cartoon character? Why?

My favorite cartoon character is Wile E. Coyote from Road Runner because he always is getting himself into trouble.
